Khamenei Prepares for the Unthinkable: Iran’s Supreme Leader Secretly Picks Successors Amid War Tensions

By RYNI Media | @DoublePrince

22 June 2025

As hostilities between Israel and Iran escalate, reports have emerged that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has covertly selected three possible successors in the event of his sudden death—a rare and urgent decision reflecting the increasing volatility at the heart of the Islamic Republic’s leadership.

According to The New York Times, citing unnamed senior Iranian officials, the 86-year-old cleric, now reportedly operating from a fortified underground location, quietly named the three clerics in recent days. This revelation follows the targeted killings of key Iranian and allied commanders allegedly by Israeli forces, prompting fears that Khamenei himself could be next.

What makes the development particularly significant is the exclusion of his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, who for years had been assumed to be the most likely successor. Mojtaba’s absence from the shortlist appears to mark a decisive break from speculation that a dynastic succession plan was underway, and may be aimed at preventing internal dissent and upholding the legitimacy of the theocratic system.

Traditionally, the successor to Iran’s Supreme Leader is chosen by the Assembly of Experts, a council of 88 Islamic scholars. However, Khamenei’s reported actions suggest an intent to shape the leadership outcome beyond his lifetime by guiding the selection process ahead of any formal proceedings. Analysts believe this proactive move may be designed to preserve regime stability and ensure ideological continuity, particularly amid a deteriorating security climate.

The Jerusalem Post also confirmed aspects of the report, stating that alongside the selection of successors, Khamenei has also taken steps to restructure parts of the military chain of command. These preparations reflect mounting concern over possible further Israeli strikes that could disrupt or dismantle Iran’s senior leadership network.

Experts view the choice to name three clerics—as opposed to a single figure—as a reflection of the high-stakes uncertainty gripping Tehran. It may also indicate a calculated attempt to build consensus within the ruling elite, who are increasingly divided over how to handle the current conflict and its broader implications for Iran’s future.

Beyond Iran’s borders, this behind-the-scenes maneuvering has major geopolitical implications. The prospect of a sudden leadership vacuum in one of the region’s most influential states threatens to destabilize an already fragile Middle East. The possibility of power struggles or competing factions could further inflame regional tensions and complicate efforts for diplomatic de-escalation.

For now, Iran’s leadership appears to be preparing for the worst while hoping to maintain control. With war unfolding and succession plans underway in secrecy, Tehran stands at a pivotal moment, balancing between survival and transformation in the face of unprecedented threats.

Atiku, El-Rufai, Amaechi Launch Bold Move with New Opposition Party: ADA Files for INEC Registration

By RYNI Media | @DoublePrince
June 21, 2025

ABUJA – In what may mark a dramatic shift in Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections, a formidable coalition of political heavyweights led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has formally applied to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register a new political party—the All Democratic Alliance (ADA).

The coalition, operating under the banner of the National Opposition Coalition Group, submitted its application on June 19. The electoral commission officially acknowledged receipt of the request on Friday, June 21. This move signals a strategic realignment of Nigeria’s opposition forces with the stated aim of unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next election cycle.

Backed by key political figures including former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Umar Ardo, convener of the League of Northern Democrats and former aide to President Olusegun Obasanjo, the formation of ADA appears designed to tap into mounting national dissatisfaction, economic frustrations, and political disillusionment.

In a letter jointly signed by the coalition’s Protem National Chairman Chief Akin A. Rickets and Protem National Secretary Abdullahi Elayo, the group urged INEC to begin the formal process of registration. The letter reads in part:

“We respectfully write to the Independent National Electoral Commission, requesting the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance, as a political party… sponsored by the Nigerian National Coalition Group.”

The proposed slogan of the ADA, “Justice for All,” captures what the coalition claims is a renewed push for equity, accountability, and sustainable development. Symbolically, the party’s logo features a maize (corn)—a crop historically associated with abundance and resilience, values the party says it seeks to embody.

The ADA’s documentation, now before INEC, includes its constitution, detailed manifesto, official logo, and minutes of its foundational meetings. These documents, according to party officials, outline a vision for a united, prosperous Nigeria driven by inclusive governance and transparent leadership.

Political analysts believe the timing of the ADA’s application is no coincidence. With the current administration under increasing pressure over economic stagnation, security challenges, and perceived democratic backsliding, the new party appears poised to serve as a credible alternative, potentially drawing supporters from across Nigeria’s geopolitical divides.

However, INEC recently issued a stern reminder that compliance with constitutional and legal procedures remains paramount, regardless of public sentiment or political influence. The commission reiterated that party registration processes would not be swayed by pressure or popularity, but guided strictly by the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the Electoral Act.

Despite this, sources within the opposition bloc remain confident that ADA will pass all regulatory hurdles and emerge as a unifying platform for a broad spectrum of Nigerians eager for change.

If granted registration, ADA could mark the most significant realignment in Nigerian opposition politics since the formation of the APC in 2013—ushering in what many see as the dawn of a new political era.

RYNI Congratulates St. John Vianney Science College on Historic Victory

In a defining moment for academic excellence and youth empowerment, St. John Vianney Science College, a secondary school located in the serene town of Ukwulu, Anambra State, has emerged as the grand champion of the inaugural UK-Nigeria Debate Competition, defeating both British and Nigerian schools in a historic intellectual contest.

The debate, held virtually on June 19, 2025, brought together some of the most prestigious secondary schools from both countries. Representing Nigeria were Britarch Schools, Abuja; Sure Start School, Abuja; St. Augustine’s College, Jos; and St. John Vianney Science College, Ukwulu. From the United Kingdom, participants included Central Foundation Girls’ School, London; Maghull High School, Merseyside; and Shireland High School, West Midlands. The competition was designed to foster cross-cultural understanding, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving among youth from both nations.

After a series of intellectually rigorous preliminary rounds, St. John Vianney Science College distinguished itself with sharp logic, persuasive argumentation, and confident delivery. The team convincingly outperformed their UK counterparts, notably defeating Maghull High School and Central Foundation Girls’ School, earning their place in the finals. In a dramatic twist, the final round became an all-Nigerian showdown, as St. John Vianney Science College faced off against St. Augustine’s College, Jos. The finale was intensely competitive, with both teams exhibiting exceptional depth of knowledge, eloquence, and composure. Ultimately, the Anambra-based school clinched the title with a resounding victory, earning the prestigious honour of being named the first-ever UK-Nigeria Debate Champions.

The Resourceful Youth Network Initiative (RYNI) has extended its profound congratulations to St. John Vianney Science College for this monumental achievement. Dr. Lawson Obazenu, CEO of RYNI and a passionate advocate for youth development in Africa, lauded the team’s performance as a testament to the intellectual potential and global relevance of Nigerian youth. He noted that this triumph transcends competition—it is a beacon of possibility and pride for every African child striving for excellence.

Dr. Obazenu, who continues to champion education, leadership, and youth inclusion across the continent, emphasized that the victory showcases not only academic brilliance but also the resilience and preparedness of Nigerian students to take on global platforms. He further highlighted the importance of diaspora-Nigerian partnerships in developing Africa, reiterating his call for youth—whether at home or abroad—to collaborate for national and continental progress.

As the echoes of the final debate continue to inspire, St. John Vianney Science College has not only won a trophy but ignited national pride, proving once again that Nigeria’s youth are more than capable—they are ready to lead, ready to win, and ready to change the world.

Tensions Escalate as 14 US and German Military Planes Land in Israel Amid Iran Conflict

By RYNI Media | @DoublePrince

June 20, 2025

In a dramatic escalation of international involvement in the ongoing Middle East conflict, fourteen military cargo planes from the United States and Germany landed in Israel on Thursday, laden with military equipment and supplies to bolster Israeli forces. The development, confirmed by the Israeli Ministry of Defense, marks a significant reinforcement of the country’s military posture as it wages a high-stakes confrontation with Iran.

According to an official statement, the incoming aircraft form part of the logistical “air and sea bridges” Israel has maintained since launching a full-scale offensive against Iran on June 13. Though the ministry refrained from detailing the exact contents of the cargo, it underscored that the deliveries aim to ensure “operational readiness” of Israeli defense forces.

This latest deployment brings the total number of international military cargo flights received by Israel since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict on October 7, 2023, to over 800. The scale of the operation reflects the growing scope of Israel’s military campaigns, which have expanded from Gaza to include direct confrontations with regional powerhouse Iran.

Neither the United States nor Germany has issued a public comment on Thursday’s military deliveries as of 1745 GMT, raising questions about the depth and nature of Western involvement in Israel’s military strategy. However, the arrival of these planes underscores a coordinated backing of Israeli military efforts by major NATO allies, even amid increasing international scrutiny and condemnation of the humanitarian toll.

The escalation follows a rapid deterioration in relations between Israel and Iran. The latest round of hostilities erupted on Friday, June 13, when Israeli warplanes conducted precision strikes on multiple high-value targets in Iran, including military infrastructure and suspected nuclear facilities. Tehran responded with a volley of missile attacks targeting Israeli cities and defense installations.

Israeli officials report that at least 25 citizens have been killed and hundreds more injured by Iranian retaliatory strikes. On the other side, Iranian media have confirmed a staggering 639 fatalities and over 1,300 wounded in the Israeli aerial onslaught, marking one of the deadliest periods in recent memory between the two adversaries.

While Israel defends its actions as a necessary response to an existential threat, critics have pointed to the mounting civilian toll, particularly in Gaza, where the conflict has already been described by human rights observers as genocidal. The influx of foreign military aid — notably from the US and Germany — is likely to fuel further controversy in international diplomatic circles, with calls growing louder for de-escalation and an immediate ceasefire.

For now, the situation remains perilously volatile. With each military shipment and every retaliatory strike, the region inches closer to a broader conflagration. Analysts warn that without urgent diplomatic intervention, the conflict risks engulfing the wider Middle East in a protracted war with unpredictable consequences.

As the world watches closely, the question remains: will diplomacy prevail, or are these flights a prelude to an even more devastating chapter in an already tragic saga?

FG launches Emergency Evacuation as Middle East Boils.

RYNI Media | @DoublePrince
20 June ,2025

Over Hundreds of Nigerians in Israel and Iran Await Rescue Amid Rising Regional Conflict

As rockets fly and tensions boil over in the Middle East, the Federal Government of Nigeria has activated emergency evacuation procedures for its citizens caught in the escalating hostilities between Israel and Iran.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, made the announcement in Abuja through a press release signed by ministry spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa. The move comes as part of an urgent humanitarian response to ensure the safety of Nigerians abroad, as the conflict enters its seventh day of deadly escalations.

“The government remains committed to the safety and welfare of all its citizens, both at home and abroad,” Tuggar affirmed.

Nigerians in both countries have been directed to immediately contact the nearest Nigerian embassies—Tel Aviv and Tehran—for registration and evacuation guidance.

Tuggar also applauded the relentless efforts of Nigeria’s foreign missions in coordinating swift responses and staying connected with distressed nationals, stating that “no Nigerian will be left behind.”

Sources indicate that several hundred Nigerians—including students, workers, and business people—are likely to be airlifted in coming days, once clearance and logistics are finalized in partnership with local authorities and global allies.

While details remain classified for operational security, flights are expected to depart from secured zones under diplomatic escort, avoiding active war zones and high-risk areas.

At the same time, the Nigerian government has renewed its international call for peace, urging both nations to “respect humanitarian law, cease hostilities, and return to the path of dialogue.”

“The loss of innocent lives cannot continue to be the price of unresolved political grievances,” Tuggar warned.

Nigeria has long maintained a policy of non-aggression and diplomatic resolution, and this current intervention reaffirms its position as a responsible global actor committed to human security.

As citizens await rescue, the government’s swift action sends a strong signal of national solidarity and the importance of proactive foreign policy in uncertain global times.

NBTE Greenlights Akwa Ibom Tech Hub as Skills Training Centre – RYNI Applauds Milestone for Youth Empowerment

By RYNI Media | June 19, 2025

@DoublePrince

In a significant boost for youth empowerment and technical development in Nigeria, the Resourceful Youth Network Initiative (RYNI), a leading non-governmental organisation dedicated to youth capacity building, has commended the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for approving the Start Innovation Hub in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as a certified Skills Training Centre.

This landmark approval, conveyed in a letter signed by Engr. S. M. Yusuf, Director of Vocational, Technical, and Skills Development at NBTE, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris Muhammad Bugaje, marks a transformative step toward expanding access to formal technical education in the South-South region of Nigeria.

According to the NBTE, the hub has been officially authorised to provide training in two high-demand disciplines: Computer Hardware Repair and Maintenance and Social Media Communications. These programmes, chosen for their relevance in today’s digital economy, will empower young people with practical, industry-relevant skills needed to thrive in the tech-driven job market.

Under the new arrangement, a recognised Sectoral Awarding Body will oversee the assessment of trainees, ensuring rigorous quality assurance standards. Upon successful completion, trainees will receive nationally recognised certificates issued by the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), endorsed by the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN). This certification confers formal recognition and enhances employability across a broad spectrum of technology-driven fields.

“I am directed to inform you that the Executive Secretary has approved the Centre to operate as a Skills Training Centre,” the letter stated. “Please accept my congratulations on behalf of the Executive Secretary.”

The National Board for Technical Education, Nigeria’s apex regulatory body for technical and vocational education and training (TVET), continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a workforce that is not only employable but equipped for innovation and entrepreneurship.

In reaction to this development, RYNI lauded the NBTE for its strategic foresight in bridging the skills gap and accelerating human capital development. Speaking through a statement released in Uyo, RYNI described the approval as “a bold endorsement of the power of youth-led innovation and a testament to the NBTE’s commitment to decentralising access to technical education.”

“This is more than an administrative greenlight—it’s a gateway for thousands of young Nigerians to transform their passion into profession,” the statement noted. “We commend the NBTE for this visionary move, and we congratulate the leadership of Start Innovation Hub for this well-deserved recognition.

”Start Innovation Hub, a renowned tech incubator in Akwa Ibom, has long been at the forefront of digital inclusion and youth upskilling. The new NBTE certification underscores its growing role in shaping Nigeria’s digital future, particularly through practical training that aligns with global standards.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with youth unemployment and underemployment, initiatives like this stand out as actionable solutions with long-term impact. By integrating formal technical certification into grassroots innovation spaces, the NBTE is laying the groundwork for a generation of job creators rather than job seekers.

This development is poised to catalyse a ripple effect across Nigeria’s youth empowerment ecosystem, inspiring more collaborations between government bodies, private sector actors, and non-governmental organisations like RYNI to deliver on the promise of inclusive, skills-based education.

With the approval of the Skills Training Centre in Uyo, Akwa Ibom joins the ranks of forward-thinking states investing in the future of work. As RYNI aptly puts it, “This is a win for the youth, a win for development, and a win for Nigeria.”
